The financial structure of the country is near collapse if the government does not step in quickly.
Russia is going back to a cold war mentality. Gees. I really thought we were through with that. Do we really have to go back to the 1960s when we had to sit in the hall of our elementary school with our heads covered with our arms, and listen to our parents worry about whether they should build a bomb shelter? Do we really have to deal with all that? Again.
In the election of 2008, some Americans hesitate to vote for a black man for president. Do we really have to go back to the 1960 election when some Americans would never vote for a catholic? C'mon now, not again.
There is a new program that started this morning at the library. It is called "Music Together," a music immersion program for children from birth to age 4. The two teachers led the children in song and rhythm exercises. It was absolutely adorable! It was heartwarming! Did it matter what color they are? Did it matter that some kids were running around and some were sitting on their mommy's lap and sucking their thumb? Did it matter that it took some of them a longer time to get into the music and interact, while others were clearly engrossed right from the beginning? And, was I thinking about the economy while I watched the children? Was I thinking about Russia? Was I thinking about all the ignorance that influences people in their decisions about who will be the next president?
I think not. At least for an hour.
